They serve as a reference for volunteers and remind the organization that it must meet the standards of good practice it has established. As a general rule, you receive a voluntary agreement that states that the National Council of Voluntary Organizations (NCVO) has information on the legal status of volunteers. Organizations should be aware of the risk of an accidental employment contract with volunteers. However, this risk can be minimized by the best practices described below: you do not have a voluntary employment contract, so you do not have the same rights as an employee.
